Oxi-day celebration

On the 28th of October in Greece the people celebrate their 2nd most important holiday. It was some years ago on the 28th of October in 1940 where Italy, under the dictator Mussolini, wanted to conquer Greece. Courageous, they said no, in Greek οχι, to their takeover.

In Greece the people celebrate this day with parades. Children from primary school, teenagers from high school, but also the military walked through the city, all in one line. The parade was pretty disciplined and you could see that the Greek people are proud of their country and it’s important for them to celebrate this day.

Of course one important thing is never missing: the Greek flag which is everywhere hanging out of the windows, decorating every street-lamp and it is an important part of the parade.
